YELLOWFIN
Catches of EPO yellowfin totaled roughly 187,000 tonnes or 32% of the region’s catch in 2008.
The average size of EPO Yellowfin ranges from 3.5kg (7.7 lbs) to 40kg (88 lbs) – depending on the fishing method used.
BIGEYE
Catches of EPO bigeye totaled about 95,000 or 16% of the region’s catch in 2008.
The average size of EPO Bigeye ranges from 8kg (17.5 lbs) to 60kg (132 lbs) – depending on the fishing method used.
