Audit Process
As part of their commitment to improve the sustainability of tuna fisheries, ISSF Participating Companies agree to be audited annually on their conformance with our conservation measures.
ISSF and auditor MRAG Americas review audit protocols regularly and make updates as necessary. Participating seafood companies are audited based on the policy in effect during the audit period:
Data Check Companies & PVR Audit Policies
There are separate audit policies for Data Check Companies as well as for vessels listed in ISSF’s ProActive Vessel Register (PVR).

Current Audit Protocol
This document details how ISSF participating companies will be audited in 2025 on their compliance in 2024 with ISSF conservation measures.
Annual Compliance Report
This report shows how both ISSF participating companies and ProActive Vessel Register vessels performed in aggregate against all relevant ISSF conservation measures that were in force during the audit period.
Individual Company Audit Reports
We publish compliance reports compiled by MRAG Americas for each ISSF participating company, tracking their conformance with applicable (by gear type) ISSF conservation measures.
ISSA Compliance Policy
As members of the International Seafood Sustainability Association (ISSA), participating companies are obligated to follow the ISSA compliance policy.
