FAD recovery program

A coordinated initiative aimed at locating, retrieving, and managing the fate of the components of Fish Aggregating Devices (dFADs) that are lost, abandoned, or discarded and no longer in operational use. The program aims to reduce their environmental impact, especially on coastal areas and the open ocean. FRPs usually involve FAD tracking technologies, recovery operations, data collection, and partnerships with fishers, coastal communities, NGOs and management bodies.
