Dr. David James Agnew,

Standards Director, Marine Stewardship Council

Dr. Agnew has over 30 years of experience in the fisheries management and marine sciences fields, and was formerly a member of ISSF’s Environmental Stakeholder Committee (ESC). Dr. Agnew is currently the standards director of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), where he has been responsible for the creation of the MSC Scholarship scheme, developing and publishing the MSC Science Series, initiating MSC-ASC’s new joint seaweed standard and managing revisions of the MSC Fishery and Chain of Custody Standards. Agnew has also worked for MRAG Ltd, the Commission for the Conservation of Marine Living and taught at Imperial College of London.
Agnew holds a PhD in zoology from Glasgow University.
