Audits of vessels listed in the VOSI are carried out remotely and organized on two levels to ensure auditing goals are met.
All vessels on the VOSI will receive either a level 1 or level 2 audit on an annual basis.
- All vessels applying to the VOSI undergo an initial Level 1 audit as part of the listing process.
- Level 2 audits are conducted on an appropriate sample of vessels to assist in verifying information provided to show conformance with, and/or active participation in, FIPs and/or MSC-certified fishery(ies).
